Special Report: Sierra Nevada’s rock chip campaign over the Blackhawk project in Nevada has returned a spread of high-grade precious and base metal samples.

Assays from Sierra Nevada Gold (ASX:SNX) Two Shovels prospect returned highs of 3460g/t silver and 4.52% copper, while Endowment South showed tops of 587g/t Ag and 3.76% Cu coincident with IP anomalies from the historical Endowment mine.

And while falling short of previous highs, additional rock sampling of the Nellie prospect returned new results of 139g/t Ag, 2.38g/t Au and more potential drill targets.

SNX’s last round of drilling returned hits to the tune of 4.88m at 481g/t Ag, 0.61g/t Au, 0.6% Cu and 0.4% Sb from 87.78m, and the company is gearing up for its next round over the project’s large and so far high-grade epithermal vein field.

“Blackhawk has vast potential for high-grade precious and base metals mineralisation and we continue to work to better understand the geology of this historic mining precinct, with low cost activities aimed to firm up targets for future drilling,” executive chairman Peter Moore said.

“Recent sampling has again delivered high-grade silver and copper results up to 3460g/t Ag and 4.52% Cu, while our dipole-dipole induced polarisation geophysical surveying has helped with vertical definition of several high-grade vein systems.

“We will continue to advance this work over the coming months.”

The company says the IP program greatly assisted with drill targeting across the camp and has expanded its search space as it looks at continued field exploration throughout 2025.

Argentum ascension

The Blackhawk project has a 2Moz gold neighbour to the northwest but a 230Moz silver project lying in the other direction also points to the riches on offer in its slice of the Nevada precious metals province.

While most investors and companies were scrambling to return to surging gold markets in 2024, silver also shone brightly as one of the best performing commodities last year, with prices now close to decade long highs.

There are few focused players for the silver bugs out there, and Stockhead contributor Kristie Batten last year noted SNX as the cheapest exploration ticker for it on the Australian exchange.

The company remains well funded after a raising last year to continue its campaign, and the field season is just beginning in a jurisdiction which continually jockeys for top spot in the Fraser Institute’s rankings.
