0911 ET - Empire says Canadians are rallying behind the Buy Canadian movement as the U.S. trade war with Canada continues. In an earnings call, executives say that sales of Canadian products are out-pacing those from the U.S. The Canadian grocer has been nurturing the sentiment with specific signage and marketing, which is gaining more traction. Half-way through the current fourth fiscal quarter, the executives say that there is similar momentum to 3Q, "things are normal, no cautious behavior," they say.
