Cigna Group is making a series of C-suite changes, including the appointment of a new president and finance chief.
Cigna on Thursday said Brian Evanko, currently chief financial officer and president and chief executive of its Cigna Healthcare arm, will become president and chief operating officer of the Bloomfield, Conn., health insurer, effective March 31.
Cigna said Evanko, 48 years old, will have responsibility for all of its business lines, including Evernorth Health Services, adding that Eric Palmer, currently president and CEO of Evernorth will leave at the end of April after more than 25 years with the company.
The company said Ann Dennison, who joined early last year as deputy finance chief after serving as CFO of Nasdaq since early 2021, will succeed Evanko as chief financial officer.
Cigna said Evanko, who joined the company in 1998, will now receive a base salary of $1.1 million and an annual bonus with a target of $2.2 million. Dennison, 54, will receive a base salary of $800,000 and an annual bonus with a target of $1.1 million
