General Motors' (GM) labor union leaders in South Korea will travel to Detroit to express concerns over potential US tariffs proposed by President Donald Trump, fearing job losses if tariffs impact exports from their factories, multiple media outlets reported Thursday.

Ahn Kyu-baek, chairman of the local Korean Metal Workers' Union, said the delegation seeks to discuss with GM executives the automaker's strategy if tariffs are implemented, Bloomberg reported Thursday. "Employees are anxious," Ahn said, citing speculation that GM could consider exiting South Korea if tariffs become reality, according to the report.

GM Korea declined to comment to Bloomberg.

General Motors did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
