Hong Kong's High Court rejected a request from Ding Yumei, the ex-wife of China Evergrande Group (HKG:3333) Chairman Hui Ka-yan, for a private hearing and ordered her to cover the legal costs of Evergrande's liquidators, The Standard reported on Tuesday.

Ding, who reportedly resides with minor children and grandchildren, cited privacy and reputational concerns.

A judge dismissed Ding's request, emphasizing the need for transparency in Evergrande's liquidation, the report said.

Liquidators are pursuing Hui Ka-yan, Ding, and former executives to recover HK$46.8 billion alongside a global asset injunction worth HK$60 billion, the publication said.
