Three major Chinese airlines have integrated their booking systems, allowing customers to book each other's flights through their respective apps, Yicai Global reported Monday.
Travelers can now view and book Air China (HKG:0753, SHA:601111) and China Southern Airlines (HKG:1055, SHA:600029) flights on China Eastern Airlines' (SHA:600115, HKG:0670) app, and vice versa, the report said.
The service, tested in 2024 for routes connecting Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou, offers different prices for the same flight across the three apps. However, the lowest fare is always shown on the airline operating the flight, according to the report.
Air China's Hong Kong shares rose 2%, China Southern Airlines' HK shares rose less than 2%, and China Eastern Airlines' HK shares jumped over 3% in recent trade.
