A record 200,000 overseas students flooded into Australia in February, defying expectations that 18 months of tougher entry rules would dampen demand and help bring migration back to historic norms.
New Australian Bureau of Statistics data reveals that 201,490 people came to Australia on student visas last month – 15 per cent higher than the last monthly record in February 2019, before the pandemic.
