Gold miners rose in trading on Tuesday, after gold prices jumped above the $3,000 mark and hit a new record on Tuesday.

Newmont's (ASX:NEM) shares jumped 3% on market close on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, shares of Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) were flat with a positive bias, and Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) rose 1% on close.

Gold prices hit a record high of $3,015.70 per ounce earlier in the day and continue to hover above $3,000.
