TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) plunged freely in today's first session. Trading was halted for 30 minutes after the index dropped more than 5 percent before closing the session at 6,076 (-6.11 percent). Research Samuel Sekuritas mentioned that this decline contradicts the movement of the global and regional markets.

Based on the same research, Samuel Sekuritas noted that the Asian market also captured positive sentiment from the U.S. and tended to strengthen; by the end of the first session today, the Hang Seng index strengthened by +1.8 percent, as well as Nikkei (+1.5 percent), Kospi (+0.1 percent), and STI (+0.9 percent), while Shanghai (+0.0 percent) tended to be flat.
