EcoGraf (ASX:EGR) has completed a major environmental and social update for its Epanko Graphite Project in Tanzania, investing over AU$3.5 million over two years, to support the project's development, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
Completion of the programs aligns with the granting of a Special Mining Licence (SML) at the project, supporting an initial 18-year mine life,
extendable to 25 years or more and the company plans to update the SML alongside revisions to the life of mine plan, the filing said.
The company will now submit an updated environmental and social impact assessment, summarizing key changes to the environmental and social management plan, to Tanzania's National Environment Management Council, in line with existing approvals, the filing added.
