1439 ET - Nike's F3Q earnings came ahead of expectations, but its F4Q outlook didn't and it's too early to get excited about a turnaround, Raymond James analysts say in a research note. The sportswear brand continues to reduce exposure to classics Air Force 1, Air Jordan 1 and Dunk models as it looks to clear inventory and lean more aggressively on innovation, but the analysts say they worry that significant discounting of classics could damage the brand. "Consumers seeing classics on sale for a multi-quarter period could think twice about transacting at full-price for other products--ie, Why not wait for Nike's discount?" Nike slides 6%.
