T-Mobile US (TMUS) said late Thursday that it has reached an agreement in principle to sell its 800 MHz spectrum portfolio to Grain Management, a private investment firm.
The company said Grain, in partnership with Black & Veatch, plans to market the spectrum to utilities, critical infrastructure operators, and rural/regional service providers.
T-Mobile said it will receive a combination of cash and all of Grain's 600 MHz spectrum licenses under the deal.
The deal, expected to close by April 2025, would have an incremental upside to T-Mobile's capital plans outlined in September 2024, it added.
