Capital Environment (HKG:3989) recorded an 18% decline in attributable profit for the year 2024 to 234.1 million yuan from 285.4 million yuan in the year-ago period, a March 21 filing with the Hong Kong bourse said.
Earnings per share were 0.0164 yuan in the year, down from 0.02 yuan in the previous corresponding year.
The waste management services company attributed the decline in profit mainly to the drop in its overall business and a significant reduction in revenue from construction, hazardous waste disposal, and environmental treatment projects.
Revenue fell by 10% to 3.67 billion yuan from 4.08 billion yuan a year prior.
The lower revenue was mainly due to projects under construction being put into commercial operation and the closure of the company's dismantling project.
