Illumina (ILMN) said Tuesday Scott Gottlieb has been elected non-executive chair of its board.
Gottlieb has been on the board since 2020, the biotechnology company said.
Illumina also said Corvex Management's Chief Investment Officer Keith Meister will join its board on Friday. The hedge fund holds a 2.5% stake in Illumina, the Wall Street Journal reported citing people familiar with the matter.
Hologic (HOLX) CEO Stephen MacMillan, who had joined Illumina's board in June 2023, has decided to retire from the board in preparation for the company's upcoming annual meeting of stockholders, Illumina said.
ILMN shares were 1.5% higher ahead of Tuesday's opening bell.
