General Dynamics (GD) subsidiary General Dynamics Electric Boat said late Tuesday it received a $1 billion contract modification permitting it to purchase long lead time materials for Virginia Class Block VI submarines.
The company said the contract, announced by the US Department of Defense, supports the development of submarines designed for a wide range of military missions.
