Contact Energy (ASX:CEN, NZE:CEN) said it intends to appeal the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) panel's decision to decline consent for its Southland Wind Farm project and to reapply for approval under a fast-track consenting process, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
Chief Executive Mike Fuge said the panel's decision is "flawed," citing "significant" legal errors, adding that it will be challenged in the High Court.
The EPA's decision can be appealed to the High Court within 15 working days, the filing said.
