0854 GMT - Poste Italiane's presence in Telecom Italia as its first shareholder strengthens management, Equita analyst Andrea Lisi writes in a note. The Italian postal-service provider acquired Saturday 15% of TIM's--as Telecom Italia is known--ordinary shares from Vivendi, becoming its largest shareholder with a 24.8% stake, the analyst says. The presence of Poste Italiane as the first shareholder guarantees a more solid governance, he adds, saying that this will facilitate the process of optimizing the capital structure and shareholder remuneration. Additionally, TIM's presence opens up further space for industrial synergies and potentially supports consolidation options in the telecommunications sector, Lisi adds. Telecom Italia shares are down 1.4%, while Vivendi and Poste Italiane shares are down 0.9% and 1.8%, respectively.(najat.kantouar@wsj.com)
