CGI has struck a deal to buy French digital- and engineering-services firm Apside, building on a string of recent acquisitions for the Canadian information technology and consulting company.

CGI said Monday it signed an exclusivity agreement with Apside's main shareholders, Siparex and investment companies of Credit Agricole.

The value of the deal wasn't disclosed but remains subject to regulatory approvals and consultation with the relevant employee representative bodies. The transaction is expected to close in June.

The addition of Apside will add more than 300 clients worldwide and operations across 28 offices in six countries.

CGI Chief Executive Francois Boulanger in January said the company had plenty of cash to put toward acquisitions this year.

Last week, CGI said it had bought Quebec City-based IT consulting services company Momentum Technologies. Days earlier, CGI completed the acquisition of Novatec, a digital services company in Germany and Spain, and in late January it completed a deal to buy U.K.-based technology and engineering consultancy BJSS.
