xReality Group (ASX:XRG) said that its US unit, Operator XR, entered into a strategic research deal with Texas State University's Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center, the FBI-designated national standard for active shooter response training in the US, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
The collaboration has an initial term of two years, with the potential for renewal based on mutual agreement, and the research will optimize Operator XR's technology platform in high-stress law enforcement scenarios.
It will focus on advancing training methodologies using the Operator XR virtual reality training system, the filing said.
Funding arrangements for specific projects will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Its shares jumped 9% on market close on Thursday.
