RTX (RTX) said Monday that its Raytheon unit has awarded MK72 solid rocket motor development contracts to Nammo and Northrop Grumman (NOC).

The companies will verify the necessary design and specifications and will complete a systems requirements review for further refinement and validation of design concepts, RTX said.

The initial phase work aims to demonstrate these suppliers' ability to execute the requirements and ramp-up production required to proceed with further development and qualification, RTX said.
