Electronic Arts (EA), Take-Two Interactive Software (TTWO), NetEase (NTES), GameStop (GME), and the entire video game industry are going to be negatively impacted by the Trump administration's tariffs, the Entertainment Software Association said.
In an interview Friday with entertainment media website IGN, association spokesperson Aubrey Quinn said that the tariffs will be detrimental not only to the cost of consoles, but the entire industry, as lower consumer spending will lead to lower company profits and lower investment in research and development.
Quinn said that the association was reaching out to government officials to discuss their concerns regarding the tariffs' impact on the video game industry, IGN reported.
