NEW YORK, April 8 (Reuters) - Solomon Partners has hired Tannon Krumpelman as a partner in its financial services unit, as the boutique advisory firm seeks to win more business from advising on deals involving companies in the financial services industry.

New York-based Solomon, which has a strategic partnership with French financial firm Natixis BFCEp.PA, established the financial institutions group in December, and said at the time it planned to hire bankers from rival firms to bolster the unit.

Krumpelman, who was previously a senior managing director at investment bank Evercore EVR.N, is Solomon's most high-profile hire for its financial services deals franchise since then. In February, Solomon tapped former Houlihan Lokey dealmakers Juan Guzman, Faiz Vahidy and Matthew Cornish to join the unit.

"We are thrilled to welcome a banker of Tannon's caliber and expertise to our team," said Arik Rashkes, who heads Solomon's financial institutions group.

Krumpelman, a 25-year investment banking veteran who worked at Evercore since 2017, helped lead the bank's financial services advisory practice. He previously had stints at UBS UBSG.S, Goldman Sachs GS.N and JPMorgan Chase & Co JPM.N, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He has advised on more than $250 billion of deals and other financial transactions, per the statement, across financial technology, banks and specialty finance.
