Chongqing Rural Commercial Bank's (HKG:3618, SHA:601077) attributable profit rose 6.3% to 3.75 billion yuan in the first quarter from 3.52 billion yuan in the year-ago period.

Basic earnings per share at the bank increased 6.5% to 0.33 yuan from 0.31 yuan in the previous year, according to a preliminary report filed Tuesday with the Hong Kong bourse.

Operating income inched up 1.4% to 7.22 billion yuan from 7.13 billion yuan a year earlier.
