3D Energi (ASX:TDO) said the Transocean Equinox semi-submersible drilling rig arrived in the Otway Basin, along the southern coast of Australia, ahead of the Otway exploration drilling program, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
Two firm exploration wells are scheduled for drilling this year, followed by up to four additional optional wells between 2026 and 2028, the filing said.
The rig is contracted for a minimum 16-well drilling campaign by a consortium of four operators, including ConocoPhillips Australia, the company's joint venture partner in the Otway Basin, per the filing.
