Sunny Optical's (HKG:2382) shipments of handset lens sets fell 16% year over year to 94.3 million units in March, according to a Thursday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.

The fall was attributable to the company's focus on its mid- to high-end projects, according to the filing.

Spherical glass lenses, vehicle lens sets, and other lens sets posted double-digit year-on-year growth.

Meanwhile, the company's optoelectronic products saw a double-digit slump, while microscopic instruments jumped 79%.
