TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia or KAI, through its Operational Area (Daop) I Jakarta division, is offering subsidized ticket prices for several train routes. These discounted tickets are available for four specific train services departing from Jakarta.

"These provisions specifically apply to subsidized trains (PSO) that receive financial support from the government to facilitate public mobility with more affordable ticket prices," said Ixfan Hendriwintoko, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, in a written statement on Friday, April 11, 2025.

Ixfan explained that these subsidies are limited to one ticket per passenger. This restriction is in place to ensure that all segments of society have the opportunity to access safe, comfortable, and budget-friendly transportation.

He further elaborated that the regulations governing the purchase of PSO tickets are in accordance with the Transportation Ministerial Regulation No. 63 of 2019. Based on this regulation, he said that customers purchasing PSO train tickets are only permitted to buy one ticket for a single journey using the same identification.

"If customers attempt to purchase more than one ticket for the same trip using the same identification, the Access by KAI application system will automatically reject the ticket purchase," he added.

Here is a list of the subsidized trains operating within the Daop 1 Jakarta area:

1. KA 282 Bengawan

Route: Pasar Senen (Jakarta) - Purwosari (Solo) and returnSchedule: Departs from Pasar Senen Station at 08:55 AM and arrives at Purwosari Station at 06:05 PMTicket Price: Rp74,000

2. KA 272 Airlangga

Route: Pasar Senen (Jakarta) - Surabaya Pasar TuriSchedule: Departs from Pasar Senen at 09:15 AM and arrives at Surabaya Pasarturi at 09:53 PMTicket Price: Rp104,000

3. KA 284 Serayu Pagi

Route: Pasar Senen (Jakarta) - Kroya - Purwokerto and returnSchedule: Departs from Pasar Senen Station at 09:30 AM and arrives at Purwokerto Station at 08:35 PMTicket Price: Rp 67,000

4. KA 288 Serayu Malam

Route: Pasar Senen (Jakarta) - Kroya - Purwokerto and returnSchedule: Departs from Pasar Senen Station at 07:25 PM and arrives at Purwokerto Station at 08:00 AMTicket Price: Rp67,000

5. KA 300 Cikuray
