Telos (TLS) said Thursday it has been awarded a $5.8 million contract to provide field service representative support and technical services for the US Defense Department's Microwave Line of Sight program.

The contract has a six-month base period of performance through Sept. 30, with a three-month option period extending through Dec. 31, the company said.

Under the contract, Telos said it will provide a "high-impact, cost-effective strategy for delivering expeditionary, operational, and permanent communications infrastructure."

Telos shares were down 2.5% in early trading on Thursday.
