Edison International (EIX) subsidiary Southern California Edison said Friday it plans to rebuild electrical distribution infrastructure in the regions impacted by the Palisades wildfires in January.
The electric utility has shared the preliminary plans with Governor with Gavin Newsom, it said. The plan is projected to cost between $860 million and $925 million, according to the statement.
SCE plans to upgrade infrastructure includes taking 90 miles distribution lines underground in Malibu's high fire risk areas, 40 circuit miles of such lines in Altadena within HFRA and 23 circuit miles in non-HFRA, the company said.
