SenseTime (HKG:0020) introduced its SenseNova V6 and V6 Reasoner models, which are new iterations of its self-developed artificial intelligence model series, the South China Morning Post reported Friday.

The V6, which has 600 billion parameters, is said to have outperformed OpenAI's GPT-4o in several aspects, including fact-checking, numerical reasoning, data analysis, and visualization, the report said, citing SenseTime Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Xu Li.

SenseTime's new developments are designed to address the depletion of high-quality text data for training large language models, according to the SCMP.

SenseNova is still closed-source, as Xu said the current motivation for being closed-source was to drive commercialization, the report said.

However, SenseNova might consider making the models open-source once they could provide a unique value to the industry, according to the SCMP, citing Xu.
