Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) repurchased 1.5 million shares in London on April 11 at a volume weighted average price of around 9.3508 pounds sterling apiece, a Monday filing with the Hong Kong bourse said.

The British lender plans to cancel the shares, following which it will have 2,374,996,640 shares in issue.
