Blue Star Helium (ASX:BNL) spudded the Jackson 27 SESW 3054 development well at its Galactica helium project in Colorado, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
The Jackson 27 well is anticipated to be completed and ultimately tied into production facilities, the filing said.
The shallow conductor section has been set and blowout preventers are being installed and tested to drill through the intermediate hole section, after which the well will target the Lyons Formation.
Its shares jumped 17% on market close on Wednesday.
