Avino Silver & Gold Mines (ASM) said Q1 silver equivalent production rose 8% to 678,458 ounces from a year earlier.

Silver output rose 6% to 265,681 ounces, and gold production jumped 25% to 2,225 ounces, Avino said Wednesday in a statement.

Copper output climbed 19% to 1.6 million pounds.

The year "is off to a strong start" with silver equivalent production on track to meet the annual production target, the company said.

Avino shares rose 4.6% in recent Wednesday trading.
