Lucid Group (LCID) is on track to enter the midsize electric SUV market in 2026, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing company executives.
The company eyes a price of $50,000 for the model to compete with Ford Motor's (F) Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Rivian Automotive's (RIVN) upcoming Rivian R2, the report said.
Emad Dlala, senior vice president at Lucid, said the company is readying assembly lines and working with vendors for the planned launch, according to the report.
Lucid's interim Chief Executive Officer Marc Winterhoff told the news outlet that the company is implementing measures to lighten the impact of the Trump administration's tariffs.
On Tuesday, the company said it introduced the 2026 Lucid Gravity Grand Touring, which is priced from $94,900 and can be ordered now.
The company added that the Lucid Gravity Touring, which is planned for later in 2025, starts at $79,900.
