Shares of Redwire climbed after the company said it has won a contract with Thales Alenia Space to provide a docking system for the European Space Agency.

The stock was recently up 10% at $9.99. Shares have gained 181% over the past 12 months.

The aerospace manufacturer said Tuesday the contract involves four docking mechanisms for the ESA's Lunar I-Hab, which provides living quarters, laboratory space and mission support infrastructure for long missions in deep space.

The company's Belgian subsidiary Redwire Space will deliver one active International Berthing and Docking Mechanism, which will combine Lunar I-Hab with the rest of the Gateway Space Station, enabling safe transfers of crew and cargo.

The subsidiary will also deliver three passive systems, which will be used as a docking port for other modules or visiting vehicles, the company said.
