Contemporary Amperex Technology's (SHE:300750) attributable profit rose 33% to about 14 billion yuan in the first quarter from 10.5 billion yuan in the year-ago period, according to a Tuesday filing with the Shenzhen bourse.

The battery giant's net profit grew at its fastest pace in two years, Reuters reported.

Earnings per share at the battery giant increased 33% to 3.18 yuan from 2.39 yuan in the previous year.

Operating income grew 6.2% to 84.7 billion yuan from 79.8 billion yuan a year earlier.
