--Toyota is considering shifting production for the next version of its RAV4 sport-utility vehicle to the U.S. in response to tariffs, Reuters reports, citing unnamed sources.
--The original plan had been to export the new RAV4 to the U.S. from Canada and Japan, the report said.
--The current version of the RAV4 is made in Kentucky, Canada and Japan. Toyota is now considering setting up production of the new version in Kentucky, Reuters said.
--Adding supply from the U.S. would lessen the impact of President Trump's 25% tariff on vehicle imports, according to the report.
--"We have nothing to announce at this time and will not comment on speculation," Toyota told Reuters when asked to comment for the story.
