Meta Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg's total compensation rose to $27.2 million in 2024.

The tech executive received more in compensation than any other member of Meta's C-suite, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Thursday. Zuckerberg's compensation was up by $2.8 million from the previous year.

Total compensation included a $14 million pre-tax allowance to cover costs related to security for Zuckerberg and his family. That was up from $10 million in the prior year.

The security allowance is paid net of required tax withholdings and all of it must be applied toward security-related costs including personnel, equipment, services, residential improvements and health. Zuckerberg expects to use the full amount each year, but may apply any unused portion to future or prior years, Meta said.

Meta paid about $2.6 million for Zuckerberg's personal travel on private aircraft. The money went toward passenger fees, fuel, crew and catering costs, Meta said.

Zuckerberg entered into an amended offer letter in 2012 that pays him a $1 base salary without bonus compensation. The agreement has no specific term and constitutes at-will employment. Zuckerberg's $1 salary is per his request, Meta said.
