0020 GMT - South Korea's benchmark Kospi rises 0.3% to 2454.81 in early trade, as defense and shipbuilding stocks advance. The market impact from new U.S. trade restrictions on Nvidia's chips is easing as local stocks priced in much of it a day earlier, Kiwoom Securities says in a note. Trading volume is thin ahead of the Bank of Korea's rate decision later in the day. Fighter-jet maker Korea Aerospace Industries rises 2.6%. Shipbuilder HD Hyundai Heavy Industries gains 2.8%. USD/KRW is 0.5% lower at 1,419.25 in Seoul onshore trading. South Korea's 10-year government bond yield is down 3.5 bps at 2.629%. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
