Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google is planning to appeal against the "adverse" section of a recent court decision on the US Department of Justice's monopoly case against the company, Reuters reported Friday.
On Thursday, US District Judge Leonie Brinkema ruled that Google violated Section 2 of the Sherman Antitrust Act "by willfully acquiring and maintaining monopoly power in the open-web display publisher ad server market and the open-web display ad exchange market."
The judge said Google also "unlawfully tied its publisher ad server and ad exchange" but plaintiffs in the case failed to prove the company's "monopolization of the advertiser ad network market."
Google did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
