Nasdaq-listed lidar sensor manufacturer Hesai is looking to boost its manufacturing capacity by four times in 2025 as demand for driver-assistance systems in cars surges, the South China Morning Post reported Thursday.

Hesai looks to expand its capacity to 2 million units from 502,000 units in 2024, the report said, citing remarks by founder and chief executive officer David Li Yifan at a press briefing.

"Supply chain will not be an issue. For us, it is just a matter of building more facilities," the SCMP quoted Li as saying.

Hesai expected deliveries of up to 1.5 million light detection and ranging sensors to clients in 2025, the report said.

Among Hesai's clients are Li Auto (HKG:2015), and Geely Automobile (HKG:0175), the report said.
