DoorDash (DASH) said Friday it has asked the California Supreme Court to dismiss Uber's (UBER) lawsuit, calling it a "scare tactic" aimed at undermining competition.
DoorDash rejected Uber's allegations of using aggressive tactics to force restaurants into exclusive delivery, saying it competes fairly and allows merchants to choose which delivery services they use, the company said.
Both companies offer white-label delivery services, which let restaurants use delivery platforms within their own websites and apps, bypassing Uber and DoorDash's main platforms., according to Bloomberg.
Uber claimed that DoorDash threatens restaurants with penalties or lower visibility on its app if they don't prioritize its white-label option, according to the court filing.
DoorDash added that Uber is misusing state law and trying to win in court instead of through market competition, Bloomberg said.
Uber did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
