Synutra International, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, produces, distributes, and sells dairy based nutritional products under the Shengyuan or Synutra brand names in the People’s Republic of China. It operates through three segments: Nutritional Food, Nutritional Supplement, and Other Business. The Nutritional Food segment provides powdered infant and adult formula products under the Super, My Angel, and Dutch Cow brands; liquid milk products under the Dutch Cow brand; and prepared baby foods under the Huiliduo brand. The Nutritional Supplement segment offers nutritional supplements, such as chondroitin sulfate, microencapsulated docosahexanoic acid or DHA, and arachidonic acid or ARA for use in powdered formula production. The Other Business segment provides milk powder and whey protein to industrial customers; genetic diagnostic services for new born babies; and cosmetics to pregnant women. The company distributes its products through independent distributors and independent sub-distributors to retail outlets in various provinces and provincial-level municipalities in mainland China. Synutra International, Inc. is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland.
